Just Passing Through is an interactive installation which incorporates fused coloured glass panels, light and sound to alter the atmosphere of a corridor which joins the Swan Shopping Centre, Eastleigh with the Swan Leisure Complex. The intention is to alter passers by's experience of the space as they move from the hectic activity of shopping to the relaxing delights of the leisure centre.

The artwork was commissioned by Eastleigh Borough Council, Cordwell Developers and Scottish Amicable as part of the development of the new leisure complex in 2008.

As you pass through the corridor triggered sound relating to the glass on the wall evokes the transition from shopping to leisure. You move through the business of shopping, to sitting and relaxing, out into nature and finally to the sounds of time passing and imagery inspired by turning film reels. Soundscapes incorporate locally recorded tracks edited into rhythms to soothe the senses.
