Glass has wonderful qualities of light, colour and reflection which can enrich any space. A corridor is potentially a dark and dreary space, and needs something eye catching to draw people's attention. The use of glass for this installation, combined with sound and light, is intended to create a joyful and calming atmosphere in the link corridor between the Swan Shopping Centre and the leisure complex. There are four different walls as you move along the corridor, each with a different set of panels relating to different themes. Firstly shopping, busy, stressful, hurried. Represented in reds, oranges and yellows. Next sitting and reading or eating, relaxing, represented in pinks, blues and purples. Next outdoor leisure time, represented in greens, yellows and blues. Finally time passing, watching a film, the roll of a ball, the ticking of a clock, represented through multi coloured discs.
